The Agricultural Policy Secretariat of the Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) has released the balance of rural credit applications after the first two months of the publication of the 2020/2021 Safra Plan.
According to MAPA, rural credit contracts reached R$48.9 billion, a 30% increase compared to July and August 2019.
The Medium Producer Support Program (Pronamp) saw its investment financing contracts increase by 83% and its costing contracts by 15%, while the National Program for Strengthening Family Farming (Pronaf) saw a 26% increase in costing contracts and a 39% increase in investment contracts.
Finally, 21% of investment programs – equivalent to R$11.9 billion – have already been contracted.
This performance, according to MAPA, is a reflection of the “intensification of agricultural activities based on favorable market prospects and the high level of confidence among rural producers”.
The only contracts relating to commercialization financing had a negative variation, of 53%.
