Attorney General’s Office extends deadline for debt negotiation

Due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), the Attorney General’s Office has instituted the extraordinary transaction, which allows the installment payment of debts registered as active debt as follows:

A down payment of 1% of the updated value of the debt, divided into up to 3 installments, and the remaining balance can be paid in installments:

  • In up to 81 installments, with each installment being no less than R$ 500.00.
  • In up to 97 installments, in the case of individual taxpayers, individual entrepreneurs, micro-enterprises or small businesses, with each installment being no less than R$ 100.00.
  • In up to 57 installments, in the case of social contributions provided for in item “a” of item I and item II of the caput of art. 195 of the Constitution.

Initially, the deadline for joining the transaction was March 25, 2020, but due to the seriousness of the pandemic and its financial repercussions, the possibility of joining the extraordinary transaction was extended until June 30, 2020.
