On September 4, 2020, the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (“CVM”), through the CVM’s Economic Analysis and Risk Management Office, opened a survey to better understand the profile of individual investors who access the Brazilian capital market. The survey aims to verify the level of knowledge of investors about securitization and private equity & venture capital products.

The results of the survey will serve as a basis for the CVM to propose changes to the regulations governing these products in order to facilitate and increase access for individual investors, who are currently restricted to only qualified investors with more than R$ 1,000,000.00 (one million reais) invested.

This initiative is in line with the other measures adopted by Brazilian capital market regulators to simplify the market and make it more accessible to more people.
