The Federal Government has published a decree raising the IPI rates on 109 products, with the aim of complying with the STF’s decision to preserve the Manaus Free Trade Zone, but the legal uncertainty doesn’t seem to be over.
This tax exemption prompted the Solidarity Party to file a direct action of unconstitutionality before the STF. The allegations were that the IPI reduction harmed the companies that had set up in the ZFM.
