In a virtual ceremony on September 25, 2020, Brazil signed an agreement with the US Federal Trade Commission to join the E-Consumer Platform, an international network for reporting scams and fraud related to e-commerce.
The action comes from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), through the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon), which signed the agreement to join the international E-consumer reporting platform, to work together with 39 other countries to combat international scams affecting consumers.
The platform will be available to Brazilian consumers in November and is part of a series of actions to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Consumer Protection Code.
