With the introduction of Law 14.831/2024, the Federal Government formally recognized the importance of this in the workplace by establishing the Mental Health Promoting Company Certificate. This legal framework encourages and values companies that implement practices aimed at the psychological well-being of their employees.

Promoting mental health in the workplace is not only a matter of human care, but also a smart business strategy. Mentally healthy employees are more productive, creative and less likely to make mistakes. They are able to focus on tasks, manage stress effectively and contribute positively. In order to obtain the certificate, a committee must evaluate the compliance of the practices developed. Among the actions and policies, companies must:

  • Offer access to psychology services and group therapies;
  • Educate leaders and employees about mental health, stress and ways of managing it;
  • Allow flexible working hours, contributing to work-life balance, among other measures.

The certification will be valid for two years, after which the companies will have to undergo a new assessment for renewal. The aim is for organizations to maintain practices that encourage workers’ well-being, failing which the certificate will be revoked.

Therefore, promoting mental health in the corporate environment is an undeniable necessity that now also deserves legal certification.
