On December 4, 2020, the president of the Federal Senate, Davi Alcolumbre, issued Act 10/2020, which regulates compliance with the new rules of the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and the legislative house’s routines for serving citizens with data.

The Institutional Policy for the Protection of Personal Data was published in the Federal Senate’s Administrative Bulletin and aims to “guarantee citizens greater control over their personal information, as determined by the LGPD” and “provide security and transparency for personal information collected by public and private companies”.

The act received support from its members, such as the Vice-President of the Senate, Senator Antonio Anastasia (PSD-MG), who emphasized that the Senate is doing its part to guarantee the protection of citizens’ data.
