Notaries start authenticating documents electronically

According to the Brazilian Notarial College (CNB), the Notarial Digital Authentication Center (Cenad) and the Association of Notaries and Registrars of the State of São Paulo, means of authenticating documents by digital means are now available in notary offices throughout Brazil.

The new tool does not follow a standard, but is subject to prior consultation with your trusted notary. Digital authentication offers the same legal security as physical certification and has the advantage that the authenticated document can be sent electronically (email, whatsapp, etc.) to its recipient, whether public bodies or individuals and companies, quickly and conveniently.

The digital authentication of documents, in addition to electronic notarial services and acts (from the platform called e-Notoriado), is yet another important and necessary technological tool in times of pandemic and social distancing.
