Participation of foreign companies in Comprasnet tenders

Normative Instruction No. 10, which allows foreign companies to register with the Federal Government’s Unified Supplier Registration System (Sicaf), came into force on October 1. From now on, the company’s legal representation in Brazil will only be required when the contract is actually signed, making the procedure simpler and more agile.

Another measure introduced by the Instruction was the end of the requirement for a sworn translation to register in the system. Qualification documents may be submitted in free translation, and only the winning bidder, if a foreigner, must submit a sworn translation when signing the contract.
