Polishop: understand the dispute between partners of the chain in judicial reorganization, pointed out as the origin of the crisis

Polishop’s crisis, which led to its filing for judicial reorganization in May this year, originated in a disagreement between the partners. The company accumulated debts of R$395.6 million and implemented a restructuring plan that displeased one of the partners.

In an interview with O Globo, Dr. Marcos Martins, founding partner of our firm, points out that the deliberative nature of the company was conditional on a majority vote. This caused embarrassment at the time of the crisis, since the disagreement between them occurred when the company needed agility and unity in its decision-making proposals.

The dispute was resolved after one of the partners contributed capital, resulting in the dilution of the other’s stake.
