Provisional Measure No. 1000 (“MP”) was published on September 3, establishing “residual emergency aid (”Residual Aid“) to deal with the public health emergency” due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
The MP creates the Residual Aid, with an end date of December 31, 2020. According to Article 1, the Residual Aid will be paid in up to four monthly installments of R$300.00 (three hundred reais), but limited to two installments per family, and may not be combined with other federal emergency aid.
With regard to the formalities for receiving it, the MP determines that the Residual Aid will be paid without the need for an application and after payment of the last installment of the previous emergency aid (provided for in Law No. 13,982/2020), but it will not be paid to workers listed in article 3 of the MP, such as those who have an active formal employment relationship, prisoners in a closed regime, etc.
