Due to the emergency situation, several Registry Offices in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Paraná have begun to implement services that were traditionally done in person, digitally, providing citizens with convenience when requesting services such as certificates, deeds and public and private powers of attorney.

According to those responsible, the technologies applied allow the services to be carried out safely and with legal fidelity, since they adopt cryptographic processes for videoconferencing and digital signatures, in accordance with the standards of ICP Brasil (Brazilian Public Key Infrastructure), the body that regulates the validity of digital acts in the national territory.

The CNJ and CGJ/SP, in their provisions No. 95/2020 and No. 12/2020, respectively, determine the continuity of notarial and registration services during the Covid-19 pandemic and regulate the practice of electronic notarial acts, which, despite being exceptional measures, will increasingly be incorporated into the legal and clerical universe, even after the pandemic.

The trend is the gradual expansion of this specialty of services to the Real Estate Registry, Civil Registry, Securities Protest and the increased demand and use by companies for this technology, in order to create new paradigms for notary and registry activities.
