On November 30, 2020, the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) launched, on its website, a page aimed at information, news and actions promoted by the Court related to Privacy and Data Protection contained in the General Data Protection Law, under the domain https://www.stj.jus.br/sites/portalp/WebPub/NovoPortal/LGPD.aspx.

In its “presentation”, it states that the STJ has “carried out studies, promoted discussions and implemented actions aimed at complying with the LGPD and guaranteeing the protection of citizens’ fundamental rights of freedom and privacy” and that, on the page, citizens will have access to “information on the main changes brought about by the LGPD, the actions promoted by the STJ for the protection of personal data and a series of contents related to the legislation, such as the latest publications on the subject”.

The action takes into account the recent validity of the LGPD and Recommendation 73/2020, issued by the National Council of Justice (CNJ), which guides the bodies of the Judiciary to adopt measures to adapt the courts to the provisions of data protection legislation.
